Abraham Pursued a City Founded by God - Hebrews 11:8-10

Our country isn't a permanent thing; it's temporary. We hope to be an influence on our nation, on our relatives, on our church family. But if any of those things are keeping us from our walk with God, we must pluck them out!

The U.S. Constitution is beautiful, but it's not God's word; it doesn't bring salvation! He has a specific plan for us that may call us to go in a different direction than a given political or governmental entity.

We don't have to agree with every decision of Israel, but Israel is still to be prayed for, as their salvation is part of God's future plan for them.

In our country, going to church and truly living as a Christian is no longer the standard, but God hasn't changed. This is a good reason to speak an evangelistic message. We should be preaching the message that Jesus was born, lived the perfect life, died for our sins, and rose again!

We deserve the death that's appointed to us; what we don't deserve is the eternal life he offers us! He took my place. Romans 8... He predestined, called, justified, and glorified us! All because our eyes were opened... by him.

The rest of the message... Jesus went all around and preached the Gospel of the Kingdom, the kingdom of priests he wants to send to all the earth. That's us!

Matthew 6... The Lord's prayer. Your kingdom come... Seek first God's kingdom.

God is in me, and in God, there is no darkness! So when I sin, I must not continue to sin! Seek first his Kingdom and his righteousness!

Hebrews 11... Abraham stepped out in faith.

The Kingdom is only a kingdom because our King is there! They're is only one way to God: his son Jesus Christ.

Death is liberation from the early kingdom to the heavenly one! We are in a temporary dwelling.

Hebrews 11:10... Abraham was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God!

But we do have responsibility for the place where we're living... Jeremiah 29... Build houses, plant crops, have families, seek the public welfare. Live God's standard in the world! And they'll see the satisfaction we find in God.

Seek the welfare of your country. We must be involved in the political process and the government of our country. We must vote for the good of the nation, not for our own good. We must pray for our leaders, regardless of their affiliation or their actions, because God placed them there!

Daniel 12:4, "But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."

...People will be blown around left and right until knowledge of godly things increases.

All eyes are on Americans right now, and we must point those eyes not to our country or its government or military, but to the Lord Jesus Christ!
