B-Side - Psalm 24

Jun 2, 2025    Pastor Joshua Plantholt

There are many "hills of the Lord," both in the Old and New Testaments. Even in the very beginning, the Garden of Eden was atop a hill. Jacob met God at Mt. Bethel, Moses met him at Mt. Sinai; even Joshua was only allowed in its lower parts. David had Mt. Zion, a foreshadowing of the New Jerusalem, where God's people will live with him for all eternity. In Matthew, Jesus spoke from the Mount of Beatitudes.

We intuitively know God is "above" us, and when he meets with one of us, it's usually on a mountaintop.

Heaven is like a mountaintop, high above, but the veil of the temple has been torn, the city is filled with the light of the Lamb, and access to God is free for all who follow him! There we will be more blessed than even the Old Testament priests, living forever atop the hill of the Lord, with full access to our creator for all eternity!
