The Atonement - John 20
On this Easter Sunday, we delve into Jesus' resurrection, as recorded in John 20. This pivotal event is not just a historical fact, but the cornerstone of our faith. The empty tomb proclaims that Jesus is who He says He is - the Son of God, victorious over death!
The resurrection is what sets Christianity apart from all other religions. It's not about our works, but the work Christ has done for us. The atonement for our sins - God's work to reconcile us to Himself - is utterly unique to Christianity. We don't have to earn our salvation or wonder if we're good enough. Instead, we can rejoice now, knowing that Jesus paid it all. This truth should fill us with joy and laughter, transforming how we live and worship.
As we contemplate the empty tomb, let's remember that our story doesn't end at death, either. Just as Christ rose, we too will rise and follow Him into eternity!
